Implementation consulting for electromobility

Customized concepts for the implementation of e-mobility

E-mobility is booming. More and more companies, municipalities, and private individuals are opting for electric vehicles and want to make a contribution to reducing carbon emissions and protecting the climate. For anyone who wishes to launch an e-mobility solution, it is first important to think through a number of issues and then implement them on the basis of a previously created concept.
Well-informed implementation consulting tailored to individual needs creates the necessary foundation for a forward-looking, cross-location e-mobility concept.

In this article, you can find out more about the benefits of e-mobility, the components of our implementation consulting, and our additional services.

Components of implementation consulting

Implementation consulting is often the first step to getting started in electromobility. Especially companies and municipalities that want to electrify their fleet or fleet benefit from an overarching concept. This serves as a decision-making basis and important basis for all subsequent steps, such as the later planning, installation and operation of the charging infrastructure. You can read what it is especially important to consider when building a fleet of electric trucks and electric buses in this blog post.

The implementation consulting consists of various sub-services (modules) that can be individually selected and combined. Below we present some best practice content that is included in our service package.

Fleet analysis

We take a closer look at your fleet. This includes, among other things, a close look at the current driving profiles and a resulting demand planning for the charging infrastructure.

Consulting on electric vehicles

The choice of suitable vehicles can be difficult. We determine the optimal vehicle types, tailored to your needs, from passenger cars to (light) commercial vehicles to trucks, and make a pre-selection of vehicles, which you can orient yourself on when purchasing. Finally, the market overview gives an overview of the various alternatives and helps you decide which electric vehicles to buy.

Selection of the right charging solutions

We check your local conditions, compare different manufacturers and evaluate the use of renewable energy and battery storage, among other things. Various operator models and billing variants are also selected according to your needs.

Review of the use of a load management system

In order to optimally supply the charging infrastructure and its integration into the existing plant concept of consumers and generators on site, we create an overview of the technical aspects that must be taken into account when using a dynamic load management systems  (e.g. our Lobas load management ).

Determination of power requirements

We determine the power requirements for the planned charging infrastructure and consider the available power reserves taking into account various charging scenarios at the site.

Consideration of power reserves

With regard to the power reserves of network interconnection points, such as house connections or transformer stations, we carry out an assessment for the planned charging infrastructure including secondary technology. The existing electrical infrastructure (powers, distributions, etc.) is also taken into account. Here you can read how we look at the reserves of power.

Funding opportunities

We provide you with detailed information on current federal and state funding programs and take these into account in the further project steps.

Insight into the consideration of power reserves: How we proceed

When determining power reserves, the first approach is as follows:

  • By means of the safeguards at the house connection box (HAK) and the low voltage main distribution (NSHV), it is identified which total power is available.
  • The backup size is a first and good indicator. However, this only provides information about the peak load that can be obtained. The continuous load must be lower due to normative requirements (reduction of heat generation).
  • The backup variables are taken from the circuit diagrams or must be requested from the grid operator.
  • The power reserves are precisely identified by the load rate.
  • In addition, the available power for the charging infrastructure is determined by the selectivities to be observed in the case of fuses.

If it is determined that the power reserves are not sufficient, the house connection must be expanded or strengthened:

  • The performance increase can be effected by a fuse exchange in the HAK. For this purpose, the relevant network operator must be asked whether this type of performance increase is possible.
  • An increase in power can lead to moving from the low voltage to the medium voltage range. This is equivalent to setting up a transformer station. This expansion can lead to considerable costs (construction cost subsidy).
  • Alternatively, it can be checked whether the charging infrastructure can be electrically supplied via a meter connection column.
  • PV systems “relax” the situation at the house connection (storage systems can be taken into account here as part of a PV planning).

Conclusion: Implementation consulting supports the transition to e-mobility

The implementation consultancy for electromobility is a crucial step for companies and municipalities planning the introduction of e-mobility. The individual concepts that are developed within the framework of this consultation offer a solid basis for identifying decisions for the further course of action and thus to proceed soundly into the planning and implementation phase and to choose the appropriate operating models. Implementation consulting is thus the first step towards a future-oriented and sustainable e-mobility strategy. It also helps to reduce CO2 emissions and paves the way to an environmentally friendly future.
