Smart heating control

Reduce heating costs with LoRaWAN

Heating costs money. Companies or municipal governments that wish to save money while simultaneously being more environmentally friendly should look into intelligent heating. The use LoRaWAN wireless technology in conjunction with the city monitor is a great intelligent heating solution for reducing energy consumption.
Find out more about the benefits of smart heating control with LoRaWAN and our city monitor in this article.

How does smart heating control work?

Smart heating control with LoRaWAN replaces the old radiator valves with new, intelligent ones. This allows old radiators to be upgraded with little effort and the heating temperatures adapted to different requirements from a central location.
For example, an office building needs to be heated less on the weekend than during the week, or an unoccupied hotel room less than occupied room. Different building types place different demands on the heating control. However, the goal is one and the same for all of them: To reduce energy consumption and thereby cut costs and CO2.

Control through a combination of intelligent heating thermostats, LoRaWAN, and our city monitor gives you the following additional functions:

  • Definition of maximum and minimum temperatures for the user when setting the temperature at the radiator
  • Regulation of night-time switching or times without operation
  • Definition of rules for different room categories
  • Combination with sensors for doors and windows so that the radiators are switched off when these are opened (optional)

Advantages of heating control with LoRaWAN

LoRaWAN makes it possible to retrofit all old radiators with smart heating thermostats. The technology is therefore ideal for both old properties and existing buildings. The city monitor also allows you to assign different rights to users and prevent incorrect settings and improper use. Hotel booking systems, for example, can also be linked to the software. You can find more information on LoRaWAN, how it works, and further application examples under LoRaWAN.
